Mr. Hopkins
Welcome to Stinesville Elementary School.  I am a native Hoosier, growing up in Shelbyville, Indiana. I graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2002 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. While beginning my teaching career in my hometown, I joined a small group of dedicated educators and completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Ball State University. In the fall of 2009, I relocated to Monroe County with my wife, Jyll, and two children, Luke and Layla, where I assumed the position of Assistant Principal at Edgewood Intermediate School within RBBCSC. In the fall of 2014, I moved to Stinesville Elementary where I became Principal.

It is important to me that I build strong relationships with students, staff and the community. I believe it to be extremely important for me to be in the classrooms, hallway and out at recess to work alongside the students and staff to support our journey in helping Stinesville Elementary take the next step towards greatness.

RBBCSC elementary schools participate in C.L.A.S.S. professional development (Connecting Learning Assures Successful Students). The lifelong guidelines C.L.A.S.S. promotes are, “Do the Right Thing,” and “Treat People Right.” These are the guidelines I live by personally and constantly in my day-to-day vocabulary with students, staff, community, friends and family. I believe that we, working together as a school and community, will develop children into not only productive citizens academically, but socially and emotionally as well.

Stinesville Elementary Schools has many things to be proud of from their past and the present. I am looking forward to being part of the team that helps Stinesville Elementary School to continue to be successful for the future.
