What goes on in class, is shown at the competitions, at least when it comes to Edgewood show choirs. During their first three weeks of competition, our EHS show choirs have brought home four Grand Champion trophies, two 1st Runner-Up, and two 2nd Runner-Up awards, all while often competing against schools much larger than Edgewood.EHS show choirs started their season at the Anderson Show Choir Singsational Invitational. Music Warehouse & Sophisticated Ladies both won Grand Champion, and both were also awarded best Vocals and Best Choreography caption awards as well. New Edition was also named Grand Champ of their division. At the DeKalb Show Choir Invitiational, the lineups were a bit larger. Sophisticated Ladies outscored twelve other unisex choirs to take both captions again. New Edition made finals for the second consecutive week, and walked away with best vocals, but lost out on 1st place to the top choir from Pendellton. Music Warehouse competed against fourteen choirs including Anderson, Fishers, Lawrence Central, Carroll, and Bishop Luers. In the end they were honored to have placed ahead of all but one. Twinsburg, Ohio edged out Warehouse by five points. This past weekend, Music Warehouse and Sophisticated Ladies competed at Franklin Central. Ladies placed 3rd out of eleven groups, just behind unisex choirs from Zionsville and DeKalb. Warehouse was in first place in the preliminary competition against top choirs from Zionsville, Pike, DeKalb, Carroll, Lawrence Central, Warren Central, Noblesville, and Shepherd Hill, Massachusetts. In the end, MW placed just behind Zionsville and Pike - schools with average enrollment numbers around 2400 students, but still had spectators from other the schools on their feet cheering. Congrats to all students! What an awesome start to the season!
